WHAT DOES PIPA DO?
-
We produce tools to connect Brazilian peripheral collectives and movements to philanthropic resources.
-
We work to build partnerships with philanthropic organizations and private social investment, helping them to rethink their funding structures and practices.
-
We contribute to fostering a racialized and periphery-centered debate on philanthropy in Brazil.
WHAT DOES PIPA STILL WANT TO DO?
-
Promoting an awareness-raising agenda with strategic players in the field to push for a change in the funding culture in Brazil.
-
Holding listening meetings and mapping with collectives, movements and organizations based in the favelas and periphery.
-
Boosting the debate on inequalities in Brazilian philanthropy by producing quality content on the subject on online platforms and social networks.
OUR ACTIONS
The year 2023 was a milestone for the PIPA Initiative, with significant advances in the development of tools, the creation of its own methodologies and the design of capillary articulation and mobilization strategies, bringing effective proposals to strengthen the ecosystem.
PIPA's actions have been reflected in the partnerships it has built, which have led to resources being directed towards projects in peripheral areas of Brazil. We have strengthened the production of knowledge and exercised competition through the media. PIPA has shown and credited the value and importance of collective work, and has listened to and supported various collectives, projects and grassroots movements in various states, within the scope, timetable and agenda proposed.
The PIPA Initiative has pursued three objectives over the past year:
-
Research Production;
-
Information strategy for the sector;
-
Impact on the philanthropic ecosystem.
Under the key objective of Research Production, PIPA has focused on a strategy that included three research on a strategy that included three pieces of research:
-
Peripheries and Philanthropy: Barriers to Access to Resources in Brazil;
-
Small NGOs and Fundraising through Public Announcements (in collaboration with Phomenta);
-
Periphery's guide to the donation ecosystem.
In line with objective (2) Information Strategy for the Sector, PIPA sought to guide the sector through social networks and its own productions with our key message, the importance of resources reaching the peripheries.
